We guarantee that when the bird leaves the store that it has been properly socialized, and that it is 100% healthy. Since we have 100% control over the bird's environment at our store, but have no control over the bird once it leaves, we can only guarantee the bird for the first five days. If the results are unacceptable then we either replace your bird or refund 100% of the purchase price of your bird, at our option.īird Guarantee only lasts for the first five days If the results are not perfect but the bird can be easily treated, then we pay for all medications and all treatment. We can guide you as to the tests we suggest. To verify that guarantee, within five days you need to go to an Avian Vet and get any and all testing you prefer to do on your bird, at your expense. Loudness: Cockatoos are among the loudest of all parrot species, so if you’re sensitive to noise we would suggest looking into other types of parrots. For this reason, we suggest these birds only if you have ample time to devote to them, and are not afraid of receiving an occasional nip from your bird. It has been said that these Cockatoos tend to act more like Macaws, and will continually attempt to dominate an inattentive owner. Something to keep in mind when considering a Sulfur Crested Cockatoo as a pet is their ability to bite. Sulfur-crested Cockatoos will typically develop a small vocabulary of 5 or 6 of their favorite words and phrases. They can learn to speak, but are often difficult to understand. For this reason, we recommend a large variety of toys and plenty of supervision during play time. Anything and everything is a toy to them – especially if you don’t want them to have it. They are extremely playful and acrobatic. If you are unable to devote at least 4 hours of quality time with your parrot each day, then a cockatoo is not for you. Trainability: Domestic hand-fed babies are loveable and affectionate pets, however, they are also very needy.
